The Glow Ranking is an independent, ingredient-first guide to K-beauty and skincare. We rank the products actually worth buying — evaluated by formula, not by who pays the most. Our recommendations are editorial; we earn affiliate commissions when you buy through our links, but that never decides what makes a list. See our affiliate disclosure.

How we evaluate

Every product is assessed against the same explicit criteria:

1. Ingredients & actives — does the formula actually do what the category needs (e.g. supply the lipids a damaged barrier is missing)?
2. Formulation safety — fragrance load, allergens, sensible pH, suitability for reactive skin.
3. Texture & wearability — how it feels and layers in a real routine.
4. Value — quality relative to price, not just the lowest number.
5. Who it suits — skin type and concern, because the "best" product depends on the person.

We use an award-style format (Best Overall, Best for Sensitive Skin, Best Budget…) rather than a forced 1-to-N list, because that is how people actually choose. We do not publish numeric scores or star ratings until we have hands-on testing to back them — we would rather say less than overstate precision we can't defend.

Why you can trust this

Picks draw on published ingredient analysis, brand information, dermatologist and long-term user consensus, and — increasingly — our own first-hand testing. Product facts (ingredients, price band, retailers) come from a single maintained source and are dated, so you can see when each was last verified. K-beauty trends move fast; we re-check and update rather than letting pages go stale.
