Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how The Glow Ranking (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit theglowranking.com and www.theglowranking.com.
Who controls your data
The Glow Ranking is operated by Margaret Wojewoda, who is the controller of personal data described in this policy. For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@theglowranking.com.
Information we process and why
- Hosting and security data. Our hosting provider may process your IP address, request time, requested URL, browser information and similar technical logs to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose errors and maintain security. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure website.
- Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage such as pages viewed, approximate region, device type and referring source. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, analytics storage is denied unless you give Statistics consent. Google tags may send cookieless measurement signals while storage is denied. Elsewhere, analytics is enabled by default and you can opt out through Cookie settings. Where consent is required, our legal basis is your consent.
- Messages you send us. If you contact us, we process your email address and message to answer your request and keep an appropriate record of the conversation. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request and our legitimate interest in responding to readers.
- Affiliate-link activity. When affiliate links are activated, clicking one may send you to a retailer through an affiliate or link-routing service. The destination service may receive the link clicked, referral information, approximate location, device information and identifiers used for attribution under its own privacy policy. We use the Marketing consent category for any non-essential affiliate tracking technology that runs on our site where consent is required; the destination site manages its own consent choices.
We do not currently offer user accounts or a newsletter, and we do not use Google AdSense or other display advertising on the site. We do not sell personal information.
Service providers and international transfers
We use service providers only where needed to operate and measure the site, currently including:
- Vercel, for hosting and delivery;
- Google Analytics 4, for usage measurement; and
- email and affiliate providers when you choose to contact us or use an activated affiliate link.
These providers may process information outside your country, including outside the EEA or UK. Where data-protection law requires safeguards, transfers may rely on an adequacy decision, contractual safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism. You can read Google’s explanation of data use on partner sites and the privacy information published by the destination retailer or provider.
Cookies & consent
When you first visit, a consent banner lets you Accept all, Reject all, or choose by category: Necessary (always on), Statistics, Marketing, and Preferences. Non-necessary cookies and storage controlled by the banner are used according to your choices. We use Google Consent Mode v2, so in the EEA, UK and Switzerland analytics and marketing storage are denied by default until you grant the relevant consent. Google tags may send cookieless measurement signals while storage is denied.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the
footer. Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie (tgr_consent) and we ask again after about
12 months, or sooner if this policy materially changes.
| Cookie | Category | Purpose | Set by | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
tgr_consent | Necessary | Stores your cookie consent choices | The Glow Ranking | 12 months |
_ga, _ga_* | Statistics | Google Analytics 4 — usage measurement | up to 13 months | |
| Affiliate or routing identifiers | Marketing | Regional routing and purchase attribution, when affiliate links are activated | Affiliate network, routing service or retailer | provider-dependent |
Legal basis & your rights (EU/UK – GDPR)
In the EEA/UK, our legal basis for analytics and marketing cookies is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, together with applicable ePrivacy rules); we do not rely on legitimate interest for non-necessary cookies there.
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data; restrict or object to processing; receive data you provided in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in the country where you live or work.
To exercise a right, email us using the address above. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Data retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above:
- the consent-choice cookie expires after 12 months;
- Google Analytics cookies may remain for up to 13 months, subject to your choices and browser settings;
- hosting and security logs are retained according to the provider’s operational retention period; and
- correspondence is kept only while needed to respond, resolve the matter and meet legitimate record-keeping needs.
We do not use personal data for solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Children
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so that we can review and delete it where appropriate.
